Job summary

10x Genomics is seeking an Email & Webinar Marketing Manager in Pleasanton, CA to own the email channel and global webinar program. You will manage Marketo-driven campaigns, builds segmentation and nurture streams, and collaborate with sales, content, creative, and regional teams to optimize performance.

You will also lead webinar production on Zoom Webinars, drive lead generation, coordinate cross-channel promotion, and ensure timely follow-up and data integrity in Salesforce and Marketo.

Email & Webinar Marketing Manager

Position Overview

The Email & Webinar Marketing Manager owns two of the most direct lines we have to the research community: our email channel and our global webinar program.

Email is the first priority. You will own how 10x communicates with its database through Marketo, from the send calendar and segmentation to nurtures, deliverability, and results, and you will bring that same discipline to the guidance we give sales teams on the email they send to prospects. Webinars are the second priority and a growth area: you will build a global webinar program on Zoom Webinars that generates leads, feeds the email channel with content, and produces video that gets repurposed across our digital channels.

This is a hands‑on channel owner role. You will run the programs yourself, working closely with paid media, social, ABM, content and creative, marketing operations, and regional marketing teams.

What you will be doing:

Email Marketing (Marketo)

• Channel ownership: Own the global email strategy, calendar, and governance for all marketing sends to the 10x database. Be the single point of accountability for what goes out, to whom, and when.
• Segmentation and nurtures: Build and maintain segmentation, lifecycle and topic nurtures, and account‑based nurture streams in partnership with the ABM team.
• Execution: Build, QA, and send campaigns in Marketo, including newsletters, product and event communications, and campaign emails, working with content and creative on copy and design.
• Deliverability and hygiene: Own deliverability, list health, preference management, and compliance with global privacy and consent requirements, in partnership with marketing operations.
• Testing and optimization: Run a continuous testing program on subject lines, content, cadence, and timing. Report on channel performance and act on it.
• Optimize email deliverability and standardize best practices: Monitor, report on, and optimize email deliverability for 10x Genomics Marketo emails. Ensure that best practices are adopted by internal regional marketing partners.

Sales Email Effectiveness

• Guidance: Define the standards, templates, and best practices for prospect‑facing email sent by sales, and make them easy to adopt.
• Enablement: Partner with marketing operations and sales enablement to deliver those templates and guidelines through the tools sales already uses.
• Feedback loop: Use marketing email performance to inform sales email guidance, and sales feedback to sharpen marketing email.

Global Webinar Program (Zoom Webinars)

• Program ownership: Build and run the global webinar calendar, in partnership with product marketing, content and regional marketing, to hit lead volume and quality targets.
• Production: Own end‑to‑end webinar execution: platform setup, registration pages, mp4 creation and encoding for Simulive webinars, speaker coordination, run‑of‑show, live moderation support, livestream support, survey and/or poll execution, and on‑demand publishing.
• Promotion: Plan and coordinate promotion across email, paid media, social, and web, working with the channel owners.
• Lead flow and follow‑up: Ensure registration and attendance data flows cleanly into Marketo and Salesforce, "hot leads" are identified and marked appropriately, and that follow‑up email and sales handoff happen on time.
• Standards and scale: Create the templates, checklists, and playbooks that let the program scale and let regional teams run webinars consistently.

Content Repurposing

• Repurposing plan: Own the plan for what happens after each webinar: which segments become short videos, clips, blog posts, or email content, for which channels, and when.
• Partnership: Ensure that repurposed content is both legal and brand compliant and hand finished assets to the social and web teams for distribution as applicable.

Measurement and Reporting

• Own reporting for both channels: email engagement, email‑sourced leads and pipeline, webinar registrations, attendance, lead quality, and downstream pipeline.
• Share what is working and what is not with the digital marketing team and adjust plans accordingly.

Skills and Competencies

• Marketo expertise: Hands‑on, current experience building programs, smart campaigns, segmentation, and nurtures in Marketo. You can operate independently in the platform.
• Email marketing craft: Strong understanding of B2B email strategy, lifecycle marketing, deliverability optimization, and testing. You have owned a channel and its numbers, not just executed sends.
• Webinar and virtual event execution: Experience running webinar programs end to end on a major platform (Zoom Webinars preferred), including promotion and lead flow.
• Project management: Able to run a busy calendar across email and webinars with multiple stakeholders and no dropped details.
• Cross‑functional collaboration: Comfortable working with sales, product marketing, content, creative, marketing operations, and regional teams, and able to hold a standard while staying easy to work with.
• Analytical mindset: Comfortable in Marketo and Salesforce reporting and in spreadsheets. You read the data and change the plan.
• Writing judgment: You may not write every email, but you know a good one from a weak one and can brief and edit for clarity and results.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3+ years of B2B email marketing experience with direct ownership of an email channel or program.
• Hands‑on experience in Marketo (or equivalent enterprise marketing automation platform, with willingness to work in Marketo).
• Experience planning and executing webinars or virtual events, including promotion and lead handling.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in life sciences, biotech, or another technical B2B industry.
• Zoom Webinars and Salesforce experience.
• Marketo Certified Expert or equivalent certification.
• Experience building account‑based nurture streams or supporting ABM programs.
• Experience repurposing event content into video and social formats.
• Experience developing sales email templates or working with sales enablement tools (Seismic or similar).
