About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Email & SMS Marketing Manager to lead our email and SMS programs across the U.S. and Canada, combining dedicated channel expertise with strong email design skills.

You must have at least 4-6 years of direct, hands‑on email marketing experience for consumer brands, experience executing SMS campaigns, and strong proficiency in Figma to map customer journeys, wireframe emails, and develop campaign designs.

You will own the full campaign process—from strategy, creative concepts, and design through audience segmentation, platform setup, launch, and performance optimization. You should be equally comfortable designing an email in Figma, building an automated journey in a marketing platform, and analyzing its results.

Working closely with the Head of E-Commerce, global CRM and creative teams, and external agencies, you will deliver communications that reflect GENTLE MONSTER’s luxury positioning while driving customer engagement, conversion, and retention.

Key Responsibilities

Email & SMS Strategy and Execution

  • Own the U.S. and Canada email and SMS calendar, aligning collection launches, brand stories, product priorities, store events, and retention initiatives.
  • Manage campaigns end to end, including concept development, copy and design, segmentation, campaign building, quality assurance, scheduling, deployment, and reporting.
  • Personally operate marketing platforms to build and launch campaigns, coordinating with HQ and agencies where needed.
  • Adapt global campaigns for local audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice and visual identity.
  • Manage communication frequency across scheduled campaigns and automated journeys.
Email Design & Figma
  • Use Figma to map email sequences and customer journeys, showing entry points, message timing, decision branches, and the purpose of each communication.
  • Create email wireframes, layouts, and polished designs that translate brand storytelling into clear, engaging customer experiences.
  • Develop reusable email templates and components to improve design consistency and production efficiency.
  • Apply strong visual hierarchy, typography, imagery, and calls to action while maintaining the aesthetic standards of a luxury brand.
  • Design for mobile readability, accessibility, and the practical requirements of email production.
  • Translate approved Figma designs into deployable emails, working directly in platform builders and coordinating technical support when needed.
  • Review and refine agency-produced assets, ensuring the final deployed email matches the approved creative.
Automated Flows & Lifecycle Marketing
  • Build, manage, and optimize automated email and SMS journeys, including welcome, browse abandonment, cart abandonment, post‑purchase, and win‑back.
  • Configure triggers, entry criteria, audience rules, exclusions, delays, branching logic, and exit conditions within marketing platforms.
  • Develop segmentation and personalization using engagement, purchase history, lifecycle stage, geography, and product interests.
  • Test journey logic and customer experiences before launch and monitor performance after deployment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve first‑purchase conversion, repeat purchase, retention, and customer lifetime value.
  • Track channel revenue, conversions, clicks, subscriber growth, unsubscribes, deliverability, and retention outcomes.
  • Run structured A/B tests across subject lines, designs, content, calls to action, audiences, timing, and flow structure.
  • Turn campaign and customer data into clear recommendations and implement improvements.
  • Maintain list hygiene, suppression rules, subscriber preferences, and appropriate contact frequency.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to maintain consent and opt‑out practices for U.S. and Canadian audiences.
  • Share regular performance reports and recommendations with the Head of E-Commerce and global CRM team.
Loyalty & Retail Integration
  • Lead the development of a brand‑focused loyalty program centered on access, recognition, and experiences.
  • Partner with HQ, retail, and e‑commerce teams on membership benefits, customer journeys, and program communications.
  • Develop email and SMS campaigns supporting store events, private previews, exclusive access, and collection launches.
  • Connect digital communications with physical retail experiences to strengthen ongoing customer relationships.
  • Translate global brand direction into locally relevant campaigns for the U.S. and Canada.
  • Manage external email and creative agencies, including briefs, timelines, creative reviews, and execution quality.
  • Maintain clear accountability for campaign accuracy, deadlines, and performance across internal and external partners.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience specifically in email marketing, CRM campaign execution, or lifecycle marketing for consumer brands; ideally 3–6+ years of directly relevant experience.
  • Proven ownership of a brand’s email program, including recurring campaigns and automated flows, with hands‑on responsibility from planning through deployment and optimization.
  • Experience personally building and executing SMS marketing campaigns.
  • Strong design background and advanced proficiency in Figma, demonstrated through email wireframes, campaign designs, reusable templates, and customer journey maps.
  • Hands‑on experience with platforms such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Klaviyo, and Mailchimp, plus SMS platforms such as Attentive. Direct campaign‑building experience is required.
  • Proven ability to independently set up and troubleshoot automated email flows, including triggers, segmentation, timing, branching, and exclusions.
  • Strong understanding of email design principles, mobile layouts, visual hierarchy, and platform production requirements.
  • Ability to analyze campaign performance and use testing to improve results.
  • Practical knowledge of deliverability, list hygiene, personalization, and consent management.
  • Strong copy judgment and the ability to balance luxury brand storytelling with commercial objectives.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop to edit and adapt campaign assets.
  • Experience collaborating with creative teams, agencies, and cross‑functional partners.
  • Availability to work fully onsite in Anaheim, Monday‑Friday.
Preferred Qualifications
  • In‑house email marketing experience with a fashion, luxury, beauty, or lifestyle brand.
  • Direct experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS for email troubleshooting and template adjustments.
  • Experience collaborating with global headquarters and supporting U.S. and Canadian markets.
  • Experience building loyalty programs or campaigns that connect e‑commerce and physical retail.
