Job summary

TeamHealth, in partnership with Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center, seeks an experienced emergency medicine physician to serve as ultrasound director in Stockton, CA.

Lead a growing academic EM program, mentor residents, and shape the future of ultrasound education across multiple specialties. The role includes directing QA, maintaining equipment, and developing an EM ultrasound fellowship with opportunities for academic appointment with TOURO University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Qualifications

• MD/DO with ABEM certification.
• Completion of an Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship
• Board eligible for Focused Practice Designation in AEMUS
• Experience in ultrasound administration, education, and quality assurance
• Passion for resident education and academic leadership

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the emergency medicine ultrasound program.
• Oversee ultrasound education for residents, faculty, and future fellows.
• Direct ultrasound quality assurance initiatives and image review processes.
• Maintain ultrasound equipment and identify operational and maintenance needs.
• Support the development and growth of an Emergency Medicine ultrasound fellowship.
• Coordinate educational programming, workshops, and faculty development activities.
• Promote scholarly activity, research, and innovation in point-of-care ultrasound.
• Foster collaboration and networking opportunities for faculty and trainees.
• Expand ultrasound utilization and education across residency programs and clinical departments.
