Job summary

Yale New Haven Health invites PA/NP residents to join an intensive 18-month Emergency Medicine residency at Yale New Haven Hospital campuses. Residents will complete clinical rotations across ED services, including Pediatric ED and MICU, under supervision of Yale EM faculty. ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications are earned during the program.

The residency emphasizes didactics, journal clubs, grand rounds, simulation labs, and hands-on procedures in a world-class academic environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program by May 2025 and FNP certification; APRN license at start.
• Or graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program by May 2025 and PANCE passed by start.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills; readiness for ED practice.

Responsibilities

• Complete clinical rotations primarily at Yale New Haven Hospital campuses (York Street, Chapel Street).
• Attend Emergency Medicine orientation and participate in ED rotations, Pediatrics, MICU, Trauma/EGS, Orthopedics, Ultrasound/Anesthesia, ED Radiology, Ophthalmology, EMS, and electives.
• Develop patient treatment plans in collaboration with attending physicians; document complete medical records.
• Provide clinical instruction to medical students and resident trainees; participate in weekly didactic conferences and simulation training.
