SEMPA in Birmingham, AL is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join a non-CMG, physician-owned democratic group serving West Jefferson County across two sites: the new UAB Medical West hospital and a Hoover freestanding ED. The practice operates with 12-hour and 9-hour shifts and emphasizes autonomy and team voice.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years ER Physician Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rotate between UAB Medical West and Hoover Freestanding ED to balance acuity and flow.
• Cover 12-hour shifts at FSED (9a-9p or noon-midnight) and 9-hour hospital shifts (8a-5p or 5p-2a).
• Support patient volume targets with 2.0–2.5 PPH solo or 3.0–4.0 PPH with APP support.
