Job summary

The Iowa Department of Education is seeking an Education Program Consultant for the ELPA21 assessment to be a key member of the School Improvement Bureau. The role provides ELPA21 technical assistance, monitoring, and support to school districts, AEAs, and non-public schools.

The consultant will lead the implementation, vendor coordination, and data utilization of ELPA21, conduct district visits, and collaborate on statewide assessment systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with specially designed instruction and assessments for English Learners.
• Experience interpreting complex state and federal education law.
• Experience providing technical assistance to educators.
• Experience in large-scale project leadership and implementation in education.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and technical assistance on ELPA21 assessment requirements, data, and accessibility.
• Lead implementation and vendor coordination to administer the statewide ELPA21 assessment.
• Plan district assessment monitoring visits and participate in SASA group meetings.
• Collaborate with data teams on ELPA21 data usage for reporting, research, and accountability.
• Present on English learner programs, standards, and assessment; participate in ELPA21 consortium for test development.
