About the Job:

The practice of vascular-interventional radiography is performed by health care professionals responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. A vascular-interventional technologist performs radiographic and other procedures at the request of a licensed practitioner.

What You’ll Do:

  • Performs vascular-interventional procedures based on the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) “Vascular Interventional Practice Standards” and the ASRT “Code of Ethics”
  • Understands and adheres to departmental exam protocols
  • Actively participates in quality control and quality assurance activities using the “APIE” model
  • Prepares, administers, and documents activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy
  • Continually assesses professional performance as a responsible member of the health care team by means of quality improvement and customer service

Who You Are:

  • Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy, Required
  • ARRT certification, Required
    • Certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology, Preferred
  • Three (3)of clinical experience in Diagnostic Imaging Modality, Preferred
  • Some experience in Special Procedures, Preferred
  • Successfully completing an accredited educational program in radiologic technology, Required
