BASIS Mesa seeks an EL Teacher for an immediate start. The role emphasizes integrating English language learning with core subjects, advocating for ELL students, and supporting teachers with best practices and planning.

A strong emphasis on assessing progress and expanding English fluency across content areas is required. The position involves collaboration with School Directors and participation in conferences as needed to support ELL students’ progress.

Qualifications

• Teacher must implement ESL with content subjects.
• Strong communication of ideas, texts, and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide ESL-integrated instruction across subjects.
• Advocate for ELL academic and socio-emotional needs.
• Support classroom teachers in program implementation for ELLs.
• Provide literacy and STEM intervention during class times.
• Plan with teachers to design engaging instruction for English fluency.
• Assess and monitor ELL progress using multiple tools.
• Identify students needing ESL services and determine levels of support.
• Assist in creating a conducive learning environment for ELLs.
• Model best teaching practices and differentiate instruction.
