Job summary

Owasso Public Schools seeks an Educational paraprofessional to provide administrative, instructional, and organizational assistance to the ELD teacher. The role involves classroom management, tutoring, and assisting with English proficiency testing and reporting.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with further education or paraprofessional testing preferred. Related experience and language skills are valued, and flexibility is needed for various duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate Degree or higher OR 48 hours of college credit OR passed the ParaPro (paraprofessional test) OR passed the OGET OR passed the WorkKey.
• Generally at least one year of experience in a closely related field.
• Fluency in a second language is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with classroom management and instruction of ELL students.
• Provide small group or one-on-one tutoring of ELL students.
• Administer oral, reading, and writing English proficiency tests to ELL students.
• Summarize and provide analysis of test results.
• Help the teacher compile data for required ELL/Migrant reports to the State Department of Education.
• Monitor students in the cafeteria, and playground type setting.
• Develop cooperative and functional relationships with district staff and the public; maintains consistent and punctual attendance; ensures job responsibilities are met competently and within established deadlines.
• Assists with special projects.
• All other duties as assigned by the administrator.
