Job summary

Job description

Devereux Massachusetts and Rhode Island provides individualized treatment for children, adolescents and young adults with emotional, behavioral and cognitive differences. We serve individuals throughout the New England area and beyond, working collaboratively with state agencies and social service providers to ensure an integrated network of care. Our service offerings include residential treatment; campus and community‑based group homes; adult group homes and placement services; a special education day school; autism services; short‑term placement; diagnostic services; in‑home services; vocational training; and therapeutic foster care. Based in Rutland, MA, our day and residential school provides special education and treatment for youth ages 6‑22, including diagnostic and assessment services, extended evaluation and placement options.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach lessons in accordance with the MA curriculum framework and students' IEPs.
• Provide supervision of Teacher's Aides in the classroom.
• Work diligently to meet the needs of our students, both in the classroom, and by being a positive role model to others.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner.

Job Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Massachusetts DESE licensure in ESL required.
• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
• Must be able to attend a 2‑week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, in Rutland, MA.
