Job summary

BASIS Chandler Primary South is seeking an EL Coordinator to join our bright, passionate team. The role focuses on providing English language learner support within the BASIS curriculum, advocating for ELL students, and collaborating with K-5 teachers to design engaging instruction that leads to language fluency.

Responsibilities include integrating ESL with content areas, planning with teachers, assessing student progress, and meeting with school leaders to discuss student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required.
• SEI, BLE or ESL endorsement required.
• Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
• Strong communication skills in teaching ideas and concepts.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to integrate ESL with subject matter instruction.
• Advocate for the academic and personal/social needs of English Language Learners.
• Support classroom teachers in implementing programming and best practices for ELLs.
• Plan with K-5 teachers to design engaging instruction leading to English language fluency.
• Meet regularly with School Directors to discuss student progress and ELL performance.
