Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District is seeking an Instructional Assistant, ELL to support classroom learning and instructional activities in a 9-month school year. You will help implement lesson plans, prepare materials, monitor student progress, and provide small-group tutoring under teacher direction.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and some classroom experience. Strong English communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND some previous classroom experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Meets all federal and state educational and testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing instructional plans under the direction of the teacher or Instructional Leader.
• Monitor students during lessons to ensure engagement; review and grade homework and classwork.
• Prepare instructional materials and implement lessons under supervision.
• Provide tutoring and support for individuals and small groups as needed.
• Maintain student folders, participate in test administration and record results.
