Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools seeks an English Language Learner School Assistant to support teachers with instructional clerical and student management activities for students with limited English proficiency.

The position follows the school-year schedule with shifts around 7:45am–3:30pm. Requires a high school diploma or GED, strong office computer and communication skills; preferred candidates have two years of college, a second-degree, or CDA credentials.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Strong office computer and oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices and basic instructional methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with a variety of instructional clerical and student management activities.
• Support limited English language learners in classroom activities.
• Maintain classroom materials and records as directed by school staff.
