Job summary

Bay FC in San Jose, CA is seeking a Youth Development Coach to lead the individual development of the club’s youth players and support their holistic growth. This role designs, delivers, and tracks IDPs and group development plans aligned with the club’s game model, reporting to the Youth Director.

You will work with academy coaches to maximize progression, using performance data and a multi-disciplinary approach while maintaining safeguarding and player-first practices.

Qualifications

• USSF A License (or equivalent high-level coaching qualification).
• Proven experience in player development at elite professional or academy level.
• Strong technical and tactical understanding of football across positions.
• Skilled in using performance analysis and video tools (Hudl, Wyscout, etc.).
• Commitment to continuous learning and modern development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver age-appropriate IDPs for youth players (U16) aligned with game model and development plans.
• Monitor and review progress with regular check-ins and reviews.
• Collaborate with home-club and national coaches to align on development focus.
• Uphold safeguarding standards in all in-person and online sessions.
• Coordinate with performance, medical, data and player care staff to support holistic development.
• Support scouting and integration into higher-level training and competition environments.
• Communicate development expectations to players, families, and staff.
