Puyana Plastic Surgery is seeking an experienced Surgical Assistant to support our plastic surgery team in Coral Gables, Florida. The role focuses on intraoperative support, sterile technique, and efficient OR workflow.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in plastic surgery, is proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work calmly under pressure. You will collaborate closely with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, nurses, and staff to achieve excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Surgical Assistant in Plastic Surgery.
• Extensive experience assisting cosmetic and aesthetic procedures.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and operating room protocols.
• Professional demeanor and strong communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon during aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures.
• Anticipate surgeon's needs throughout the procedure.
• Handle surgical instruments, sutures, and equipment safely.
• Maintain sterile technique at all times.
• Participate in patient positioning, preparation, and surgical setup.
• Assist with turnover between cases.
• Ensure instruments and supplies are organized.
• Follow infection control, safety, and accreditation standards.
• Collaborate with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, nurses, and OR staff.
