GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, provides consultations on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and emphasize performance, guest service, and process compliance. A passion for the beauty industry, excellent guest service skills, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:

Performance

• Perform hair design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (if applicable).
• Meet or exceed weekly sales goals of $1900, contributing to store goals in retail, service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to serve guests better.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Establish professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and related benefits.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store areas.
• Adhere to the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license.

Experience: Prior relevant work experience required.

Skills:

• Proficiency in salon techniques across various services and a willingness to develop skills further.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment and chemicals safely.
• Skill in recommending and selling hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Capability to build and maintain client relationships and clientele.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS
