GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. Responsible for delivering quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and emphasizing performance, guest service, and process compliance. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:
Performance
- Performing various hair and makeup services, including haircuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, and ear piercing.
- Achieving or exceeding a weekly sales goal of $1900, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrinkage targets.
- Conducting product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services, and understanding their ingredients and benefits.
- Maintaining punctual and regular attendance.
People
- Developing guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
- Serving all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
- Building professional relationships with peers and brand partners for collaborative guest service.
- Promoting the guest loyalty program and app.
- Attending mandatory training and meetings for professional development.
Process
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Adhering to safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, complying with state guidelines.
- Following service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
- Using booking and client management systems effectively.
- Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
- Maintaining cleanliness and operational standards of the store.
- Following the dress code and loss prevention practices.
- Executing additional operational tasks as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Cosmetology license
Experience: Relevant prior work experience required
Skills:
- Proficiency in salon techniques across hair, makeup, and ear piercing services, with the ability to develop skills in all categories.
- Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
- Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Capability to build and maintain customer relationships and clientele.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS
