GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM). This role emphasizes performance (sales and productivity), guest service, and adherence to operational procedures. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties and responsibilities:

Performance

• Perform various hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets through excellent guest service, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver outstanding guest experiences.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop strong guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners for collaborative guest service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, complying with state guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols to ensure consistent, high-quality guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively for appointments and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Follow the Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention practices and excellent guest service.
• Perform other operational duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant work experience required.

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories or willingness to develop these skills.
• Ability to operate salon equipment and chemicals safely.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
