General Summary & Scope

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services, support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and focus on performance, guest service, and process compliance. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

The Elite Stylist demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing.
• Meet or exceed weekly sales goals of $1900 and contribute to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain prompt attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program and app usage.
• Attend training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures according to guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
• Utilize booking and client systems for scheduling.
• Communicate supply needs to management.
• Maintain cleanliness and store standards.
• Follow dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant work experience required.

Skills

• Proficiency in salon techniques across various services and ability to develop skills further.
• Knowledge of equipment and chemicals used.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
