GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs, recommending products and services, and delivering high-quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look. Supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), emphasizing performance, guest service, and adherence to operational standards. A passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service skills, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Performing various hair and makeup services, including haircuts, coloring, styling, treatments, and ear piercing where applicable.
• Achieving or exceeding a weekly sales goal of $1900 and meeting productivity, retail, service sales, guest loyalty, and shrinkage targets.
• Conducting product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Supporting store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed about industry trends, products, and services, and communicating their benefits to guests.
• Maintaining consistent attendance.

People

• Building guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Fostering professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promoting loyalty programs and digital tools to guests.

• Adhering to company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license required.

Experience: Prior relevant work experience necessary.

Skills: Proficiency in salon techniques, equipment, and product sales; strong communication; ability to work independently and as part of a team; relationship-building skills.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility, lifting up to 10 lbs, bending, reaching, standing for long periods, and coordination required during shifts.
