GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM). This role emphasizes performance (sales, productivity), people (guest service), and process (procedures and compliance). A passion for the beauty industry, excellent guest service, and strong product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing duties including:

Performance

• Perform hair services such as cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed weekly sales and productivity goals, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop and nurture guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols per state guidelines.
• Adhere to service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards in the salon and store.
• Follow the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform additional operational tasks as assigned.

Education

• Cosmetology license required.
