GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE
The Elite Stylist engages with guests, provides consultations, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and prioritize performance, guest service, and process compliance. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values, performing the following duties and other assigned tasks:
Performance
- Perform hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (if applicable).
- Achieve or surpass a weekly sales target of $1900 and meet productivity goals through excellent guest service and sales efforts.
- Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
- Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
People
- Develop strong guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
- Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
- Promote loyalty programs and apps to guests.
- Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.
Process
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
- Follow established service protocols for consistent guest experiences.
- Use booking and client management systems effectively.
- Report supply needs to the Experience Manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and store standards.
- Adhere to the dress code.
- Follow loss prevention and customer service best practices.
- Perform other operational duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Cosmetology license required.
Experience
- Relevant prior work experience required.
Skills
- Proficiency in current salon techniques for cutting, coloring, styling, treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing, or willingness to develop these skills.
- Ability to operate salon equipment and handle chemicals safely.
- Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell hair care and makeup products.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

- Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
