GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on their hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focused on the guest’s overall look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager. The role emphasizes performance, guest service, and adherence to operational standards, requiring a passion for the beauty industry and strong communication skills.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Perform various hair services, including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass a weekly sales goal of $1900, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink targets.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to enhance the guest experience.
• Foster professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote loyalty programs, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols and adhere to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistency and excellence.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness and operational standards across the store.
• Adhere to the dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Relevant prior work experience required

Skills:

• Proficiency in the latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Competence with salon equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Capacity to build and maintain a client base.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS
