GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focused on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager with performance, guest service, and process adherence. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist champions Ulta Beauty’s mission, demonstrating its values through:

Performance

• Performing hair services such as design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieving or surpassing weekly sales of $1900 and meeting productivity goals through excellent guest service and contributing to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Conducting product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Supporting in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicating their benefits to guests.
• Maintaining consistent attendance.

People

• Building guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serving all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborating with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Fostering professional relationships with peers and brand partners for exceptional service.
• Promoting the guest loyalty program, credit, and Ulta Beauty app.
• Attending mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Following safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Following established service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Using booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicating supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintaining store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Adhering to dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Performing additional operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license.

Experience: Relevant work experience required.

Skills:

• Proficiency in salon techniques across services and aptitude to develop skills.
• Experience with salon equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Capability to build and maintain client relationships.
