General Summary & Scope

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look, supporting the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM). The role emphasizes performance (sales, productivity), guest service, and adherence to operating procedures, requiring a passion for beauty, excellent guest service, and product knowledge communication skills.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Demonstrate Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through:

Performance

• Perform hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass weekly sales goal of $1900 and meet productivity targets through excellent guest service and sales.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, and communicate their benefits to guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships via consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Develop professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote loyalty programs and digital tools to guests.
• Attend training and meetings for professional growth.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control standards.
• Follow service protocols to ensure consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs and maintain cleanliness and store standards.
• Adhere to dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Relevant prior work experience required.

Skills

• Proficiency in salon techniques across services, equipment, and product sales.
• Strong communication and independent/teamwork skills.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships and clientele.

Special Position Requirements

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions
