GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality professional services focusing on the guest’s total look, support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and prioritize performance, people, and process. Passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Performance

• Perform hair design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Achieve or surpass weekly sales of $1900 and meet productivity goals by delivering exceptional guest service.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop relationships with guests through consultations and recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow service protocols for a consistent guest experience.
• Use booking and clientele systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Maintain store cleanliness and operational standards.
• Adhere to the dress code.
• Follow loss prevention practices and provide excellent guest service.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Cosmetology license

Experience

• Previous relevant work experience required

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Ability to operate salon equipment and chemicals safely.
• Skill in recommending and selling hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships and clientele.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility, lifting up to 10 lbs, bending, reaching, standing for long periods, and object manipulation during shifts.
