GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends products and services. They deliver quality services focusing on the guest’s total look, support the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM), and prioritize performance, guest service, and operational standards. A passion for beauty, exceptional service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties:

Performance

• Perform various hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (if applicable).
• Meet or exceed a weekly sales goal of $1900 and productivity targets, contributing to store sales, guest loyalty, and retail shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed about industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams for a comprehensive guest experience.
• Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and app benefits.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service procedures for consistent guest experiences.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager.
• Keep the store clean and organized, including the salon, sales floor, restrooms, and back areas.
• Adhere to dress code and loss prevention practices.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license required.

Experience: Relevant work experience necessary.

Skills:

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Ability to operate salon equipment and chemicals safely.
• Skill in recommending and selling hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility and physical ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 10 lbs. during shifts.
