GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPE

The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consulting on hair care needs and recommending products and services. They deliver high-quality professional services focusing on the guest’s overall look, support the Experience Manager and Assistant Services Manager, and prioritize performance, guest service, and operational compliance. A passion for beauty, excellent guest service, and product knowledge are essential.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Elite Stylist embodies Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values through the following duties:

Performance

• Perform a variety of hair services including design, cuts, color, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup applications, and ear piercing (if applicable).
• Achieve or surpass an average weekly sales goal of $1900 through exceptional guest service and contribute to retail and service sales, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
• Conduct product demonstrations to enhance sales and guest experience.
• Support in-store events and marketing initiatives to enhance guest engagement.
• Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services, understanding their ingredients and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain consistent attendance.

People

• Build guest relationships through consultations and tailored recommendations.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently, including walk-ins.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to provide comprehensive guest experiences.
• Develop professional relationships with peers and brand partners to deliver exceptional service.
• Promote the guest loyalty program, including credit and the Ulta Beauty app.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings for ongoing professional development.

Process

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols, adhering to state guidelines.
• Follow established service protocols for consistency and quality.
• Use booking and client management systems effectively for scheduling and follow-up.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager to ensure guest readiness.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and store operations.
• Adhere to dress code policies.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention practices and exceptional service.
• Perform other operational tasks as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Cosmetology license

Experience: Previous relevant work experience required

Skills:

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories, with a willingness to develop skills.
• Proficiency with salon equipment and chemicals.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships and clientele.

SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Mobility, standing for long periods, lifting up to 10 lbs., bending, reaching, and twisting required.
