Job summary

Huseman Group is seeking a skilled Structural Steel Tech who builds the framework, reads blueprints, and welds with precision to create strong, safe structures on diverse projects. You’ll inspect welds, guide alignment, and collaborate with engineers and trades to keep work progressing.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, welding apprenticeship, 2–3 years in fabrication and erection, and the stamina to work at heights in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship in welding or structural steelwork preferred.
• 2–3 years of experience in structural steel fabrication and erection.
• Proficiency in welding techniques (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW) and related certifications such as AWS D1.1.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications to determine dimensions and materials for framing systems.
• Select, cut, and weld steel components to fabricate or repair structural parts using welding techniques.
• Erect, install, and connect steel beams, girders, and columns to form building frameworks.
• Inspect and test welds to meet safety regulations and design specs.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and management to address field challenges and keep projects moving.
