Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Event Medicine Specialist II to provide advanced on-site medical care during mass gathering events in the Charlottesville area. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care for spectators and participants, document treatments, and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities include ALS-level direct care, vehicle readiness, safety prioritization, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of ALS-level experience as a released attendant-in-charge.
• Virginia Intermediate or Paramedic certification; BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
• Unrestricted Driver’s License and EVOC Class II or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct on-site medical care at the ALS level.
• Document patient condition and all treatment while protecting confidentiality.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team to respond to illnesses and injuries at events.
• Maintain vehicle readiness and restock after events or transports.
• Ensure safety is prioritized in all aspects of care and transportation.
