Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) to join our team in the United States. The role involves performing acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV, with regional travel up to 75% and a compensation package that rewards certification and experience.

You will analyze test results, document findings, mentor junior technicians, and lead multi-discipline projects while staying compliant with NETA MTS/ATS,

Qualifications

• NETA Level III or IV certification in good standing.
• Minimum 7 years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
• Ability to read one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

• Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500 kV.
• Conduct power system studies including short circuit, coordination, arc flash, and power quality analysis.
• Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, and microprocessor-based).
• Test insulation resistance, power factor, and contact resistance testing on transformers, switchgear, cables, and circuit breakers.
• Interpret results and author engineering reports with findings and recommendations.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical system failures under time-critical conditions.
• Mentor Level I/II technicians in the field; serve as technical lead on projects.
• Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA safety.
