Job summary

A leading national law firm seeks an Insurance Coverage & Defense Partner to join its expanding Litigation Practice. The ideal candidate has a portable $1M+ book of business and deep expertise in coverage analysis, high-exposure defense, and risk management.

The role emphasizes scalable, agile platform leverage across state and federal jurisdictions, with leadership of legal teams, client growth, and strategic advice to insurers and corporations.

Qualifications

• Book of Business: a verified, self-sustaining portable book of business valued at $1M+ in insurance coverage and/or insurance defense litigation.
• 8+ years of dedicated experience litigating complex insurance coverage, commercial defense, casualty claims, or liability matters.
• Billable hours: minimum 1,800 per year.
• Active Bar admission in good standing in New York, Texas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Florida.
• J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school with strong academic credentials.
• Strong leadership, business acumen, and entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities

• High-Stakes Litigation & Defense: represent insurers and policyholders in complex, high-exposure coverage disputes.
• Coverage Analysis & Advisory: provide strategic coverage opinions and risk assessments to clients.
• Practice Expansion: grow client base and collaborate with other practices to maximize cross-selling.
• Case & Team Management: lead legal teams, oversee depositions, manage trial strategy.
• Client Relationship Management: maintain direct relationships with claims executives and corporate counsel.
