Job summary

Jack Harper Electrical in Walker, MI seeks an experienced equipment operator to support highway construction projects. You will operate excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, and bucket trucks while following safety rules and traffic control protocols.

The role requires driving company vehicles, routine inspections, and assisting in maintenance, with certification requirements for forklift and first aid training. CDL A is preferred, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in road, site or highway construction and paving.
• Follows safety procedures and reports issues to foreman or safety director.
• Performs routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment.
• Loads, unloads and secures loads for transport.
• Assists in traffic control and landmark device maintenance as needed.
• Participates in safety trainings and toolbox talks.
• Drives to job sites and returns equipment upon completion.
• Maintains PPE and tools as listed at hire.
• Keeps work areas clean and organized for safety.
• Fulfills other duties as assigned by supervision.
