Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. This frontline role involves operating in the air and on the ground, carrying firearms, and maintaining readiness under high‑pressure conditions at MC Intosh, AL.

Candidates must have three years of progressive experience or a bachelor’s degree, with eligibility for a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem‑solving, planning, organization, and effective written and verbal communication.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post‑secondary education and relevant experience. Transcript requirements may apply when education is used to qualify.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, and advisory activities.
• Identify witnesses or suspects and interview when required.
• Make arrests and seek warrants within authority.
• Participate in multi‑agency operations with federal, state, and local partners.
• Support ground security and counterterrorism missions.
• Perform specialized assignments, including Counter‑Unmanned Aircraft Systems operations.
