Job summary

Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. You will operate on board and on the ground, carry firearms, and travel frequently with assignments across domestic and international routes.

Candidates must meet eligibility requirements including U.S. citizenship, age, background clearance, and educational options; the process includes assessments, interviews, and medical screening.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem-solving, planning, organization, and communication.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or a qualifying combination of education and experience.
• Qualification can be met through a combination of post-secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorism, aircraft piracy, and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, and advisory activities.
• Identify witnesses or suspects when required.
