Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights from terrorism and other threats. This role requires discretion, physical readiness, firearms proficiency, and the ability to work independently on high‑pressure assignments.

Officers may travel frequently, work irregular hours, and be assigned to domestic or international flights. Candidates must meet basic eligibility and be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Must meet federal age, background, and security requirements.
• Education or experience: 3 years progressive experience OR bachelor's degree or higher OR a combination.
• Must obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial flights from terrorism, aircraft piracy and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry and maintain firearms proficiency required for federal officers.
• Conduct investigations, interviews, and advisory activities.
• Participate in multi‑agency operations with partners.
• Support ground security and counterterrorism missions.
