Job summary

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is seeking Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial flights and public safety. These roles involve on-board security, travel to various locations and operating under irregular schedules with extensive training and background requirements.

The position requires U.S. citizenship, 21+ years old, Top Secret clearance, and the ability to obtain firearms proficiency. Duties include risk assessment, law-enforcement activities, and interagency coordination.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national
• Must be at least 21 years old when applying
• Must meet the maximum-entry-age requirement unless an exception applies
• Must successfully complete a full background investigation
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance
• Must pass drug screening, medical evaluation, physical testing, and polygraph examination
• Must be legally eligible to possess and carry a firearm
• Must obtain and maintain a valid drivers license and U.S. passport
• Must agree to mobility, travel, irregular-duty, and temporary-assignment requirements

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup
• Carry a firearm and maintain required proficiency
• Collaborate with multiple agencies on investigations and operations
