Job summary

The Transportation Security Administration seeks Federal Air Marshals to protect commercial aviation from terrorism, aircraft piracy, and other threats. They operate on flights and on the ground, maintaining firearms proficiency and readiness for irregular schedules and travel.

Eligibility includes three years of relevant experience or a bachelor's degree, ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance, and successful background investigations.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible experience demonstrating problem solving, planning, organization, and effective communication.
• A bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• A qualifying combination of post‑secondary education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Protect commercial passenger flights from terrorist activity and other threats.
• Work discreetly aboard domestic and international flights.
• Assess developing situations and respond with limited backup.
• Carry a firearm and maintain required firearms proficiency.
• Conduct law enforcement, investigative, analytical, and advisory activities.
