Job summary

Join UChicago Medicine as an Nurse Anesthetist in the Anesthesiology Department. You will provide perioperative patient care, including preoperative assessment, sedation, administration and management of anesthesia, and postoperative management.

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN and APN licensure is required.
• BSN degree is required.
• Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia is required.
• Graduate from an AANA approved nurse anesthesia program.
• Pass the National Certification Examination after graduation.

Responsibilities

• Acquires anesthesia drugs from the satellite pharmacy and prepares delivery system.
• Functions as a Care Team member executing the anesthesia plan.
• Performs preoperative assessment including chart review and interview.
• Demonstrates proficiency in airway management and intubation.
• Manages monitoring techniques in the perioperative period.
• Transports patients postoperatively and communicates concerns to clinicians.
