Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN and APN licensure.
• Master’s degree in nurse anesthesia required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Graduate from an AANA approved nurse anesthesia program.
• Pass the National Certification Examination after graduation.
• Certified or certification-eligible by AANA and NBCRNA.
• Master’s degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• Minimum one year of full-time RN experience in critical care.
• Maintain certification through continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Acquires anesthesia drugs and prepares delivery systems.
• Collaborates with the care team to implement the plan.
• Performs preoperative assessment and creates an anesthesia plan.
• Demonstrates expertise in airway management techniques.
• Manages perioperative monitoring and techniques.
• Records perioperative events on the anesthesia chart.
• Transports patients postoperatively and reports concerns.
• Assists in induction, maintenance, and emergence of anesthesia.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
