Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City is seeking a Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform comprehensive cardiovascular ultrasound exams and support patient care across diverse populations.

You will operate echocardiography, vascular imaging, and assist with TEE procedures while maintaining safety, image quality, and patient comfort. On-call coverage and teaching responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAAHEP or JRC-DMS program in cardiac ultrasound or an accredited equivalent.
• BLS/BCLS certification required; RVT/ RDCS or RCS certifications preferred.
• Training or certification in IV and UEA contrast administration may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiovascular ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
• Acquire and optimize high-quality images; ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Explain procedures and obtain patient cooperation; document findings accurately.
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) and post-procedure tasks; maintain equipment logs.
• Provide on-call echocardiographic services as assigned by cardiology.
• Educate and train sonographer students, residents, and fellows in cardiovascular ultrasound.
