Job summary

GT School seeks a full-time Academic Mentor to guide gifted K‑12 students, delivering life-skill workshops and coaching with Coachbot analytics. You will conduct individualized motivation sessions and mastery assessments, accelerating each student toward high achievement in a supportive, in-person setting in Austin, TX.

Ideal candidates hold a top-tier degree, 3+ years coaching or teaching, and show elite academic signals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a top-tier university and a record of academic excellence.
• At least 3 years of coaching/mentoring/teaching experience with students.
• At least one elite academic signal (e.g., Rhodes, Fulbright, NSF GRFP, Gates) or equivalent.
• Daily use of generative AI tools.
• Legal right to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Delivering one-hour life skills workshops on public speaking, focus, and feedback to a cohort of 15–20 K–12 students using gt.school's curriculum and your own academic expertise
• Running individualized motivation sessions, using Coachbot analytics to track each student's advancement in learning apps against their goals
• Administering mastery-based Test2Pass assessments to confirm student skill retention
• Adapting delivery in real time using storytelling, earned credibility, and AI-personalized instruction to keep gifted learners challenged and engaged
• Tracking progress against 100% goal-completion and 95% student satisfaction benchmarks
