Job summary

Altra is seeking an Inline 3D CAD Footwear Designer to create high-quality digital representations of our inline footwear concepts. You will translate design intent into accurate 3D models and visual assets, collaborating with design, development, product management, and innovation teams.

You will build 3D models of footwear concepts, support design reviews, and help drive faster decision-making through compelling renderings while aligning with manufacturing constraints and performance goals.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional experience in footwear design or advanced 3D modeling.
• Proficiency in Rhino 3D, Blender, SolidWorks or similar 3D surfacing software.
• Strong understanding of footwear construction, tooling development, materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to create rapid concept models and production-ready geometry.
• Strong visualization and rendering skills to communicate product concepts.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality 3D models of footwear concepts and tooling.
• Translate sketches and concepts into digital 3D form with design teams.
• Build and refine outsole, midsole and upper models for reviews and prototyping.
• Develop renderings and visualizations to communicate ideas and color/material execution.
• Support rapid iteration with fast digital prototypes to accelerate decisions.
• Collaborate with Development, Product Management, and tooling to balance performance and cost.
• Maintain digital model integrity and assist with handoffs to factory partners.
