The Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS), Office of Family Independence (OFI), is seeking candidates for the position of Eligibility Specialist Supervisor. This position reports to an Eligibility Services Administrator for Turner County, GA.

Provide direct supervision and plan the work of a team of Eligibility Specialists determining program eligibility. Assist in developing policy interpretations, securing services, ensuring timely benefits, and evaluating quality. Maintain a management system to monitor the quality, quantity, and timeliness of benefits.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support a team of Eligibility Specialists.
  • Assess the effectiveness of services provided and ensure outcome measures are achieved.
  • Ensure compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  • Foster a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
  • Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing development and training.
  • Interview, hire, train, and evaluate employees; recommend disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Lead customer support and public assistance efforts.
  • Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED and four (4) years of customer contact experience, including one (1) year in a supervisory role.
  • OR one (1) year of experience at the Eligibility Spec 3 level or equivalent.
Agency Specific Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience at Eligibility Specialist 2/3 level with GA DFCS.
  • Trained and worked in two or three OFI programs.
  • Must be Gateway eligibility system trained.
