This role involves providing direct supervision and planning the work of a team of Eligibility Specialists to determine program eligibility. It includes developing policy interpretations, securing services, ensuring timely benefits, and evaluating quality. Managing a system to monitor the quality, quantity, and timeliness of benefits is essential.

Role and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct supervision and support to your team of Eligibility Specialists.
  2. Assess the effectiveness of services provided and ensure outcome measures are achieved.
  3. Ensure compliance with policies, documentation, and reporting requirements.
  4. Foster a cooperative, team-oriented environment within the unit and with other agencies.
  5. Evaluate staff performance and provide ongoing training and development.
  6. Handle hiring, training, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions as needed.
  7. Lead and manage a comprehensive customer support and public assistance system.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED AND four (4) years of customer contact/interaction experience, including at least one (1) year in a lead worker, team lead, or supervisory role.
  • OR one (1) year of experience at the lower level Eligibility Spec 3 (SST072) or equivalent.
Agency Specific Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years of experience at lower level Eligibility Specialist 2/3 with GA DFCS.
  • Training and experience in two (2) or three (3) OFI programs.
  • Gateway eligibility system trained.
