Job summary

Savista is seeking an Eligibility Specialist I to join our team and help patients access financial assistance programs. You will meet with patients and families, assess eligibility for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity programs, and guide them through applications with empathy and clarity.

Day-to-day tasks include patient outreach, coordinating with hospital staff and government agencies, managing documentation in HIPAA-compliant systems, and maintaining high-quality service

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • 1+ year of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in healthcare or financial counseling.
  • Basic knowledge of state and federal assistance programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security Disability.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as patient advocate, meeting with patients and families to assess eligibility for financial assistance.
  • Guide patients through complex applications for Medicaid, Medicare, disability, and hospital charity care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically to explain options and responsibilities.
