Job summary

State of Arizona’s Department of Economic Security (DES) is hiring a Human Services Specialist 2 for the Department of Developmental Disabilities in Phoenix. This role provides eligibility services, conducts interviews, analyzes data, and coordinates referrals to community resources to support Arizonans with developmental disabilities and their families.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of federal and state statutes and agency policies relevant to developmental disabilities.
• Ability to document and maintain confidential information.
• Experience coordinating social services activities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts eligibility interviews and determines eligibility and redetermination.
• Screens applications and refers applicants to community resources; writes progress notes.
• Reviews documentation to determine eligibility and researches disability diagnoses.
• Correspondence with families and attends trainings and meetings.
