Job summary

City of Cleveland is seeking an Elevator Inspector to ensure passenger and freight elevators comply with safety laws and regulations. Under general supervision, you will inspect elevators, safety devices, and related components.

You will record responsibilities, determine responsible parties, investigate violations and accidents, and maintain comprehensive records and reports. Applicants must have a high school diploma, three years of relevant experience, ability to lift 30 pounds, and a valid

• Three (3) years of full-time paid experience in elevator installation, construction, inspection, or repair.

Elevator Inspector

Under general supervision, makes inspections of passenger and freight elevators for the purpose of insuring compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations governing their safety and operation. Performs related duties as required.

• Determines and records person responsible for the operation of elevators at a premise.

• Maintains records of inspections made and of findings, and maintains other records.
• Makes reports of inspections made and of findings.
• Prepares other reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required.

three (3) years of full time paid experience in the installation, construction, inspection, or repair of elevators is required.

Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of thirty (30) pounds.

A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
