Job summary

Hoist & Crane Service Group is seeking an Elevator Apprentice to support our technicians in maintaining and servicing elevators, VRCs, and rack and pinions. You will work both independently and with the team, adhere to safety guidelines, and develop skills in electrical, mechanical, and structural tasks.

Ideal candidates have basic electrical experience, can work at height, and communicate effectively with customers and colleagues. Training is provided along with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Possess or be eligible to get a TWIC card.
• Ability to follow directions and learn new technical skills.
• Working knowledge of hand tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/sit for long periods.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal; able to work in a team.
• Must pass drug/alcohol screening and background checks.

Job description

Position Overview

Elevator Apprentice assists the Elevator Technicians as directed on all job functions related to the service of all types of elevators, VRCs, and Rack and Pinions. Elevator Apprentices may be required to work independently and/or supervise others during specific tasks on a job as directed by the Elevator Technician based on demonstrated abilities. Elevator Apprentices are expected to follow all safety guidelines of HCSG and of the work site and always use safe work practices. Ideal candidates will have basic electrical experience and be able to work at high elevations.
