Job summary

Paylocity is seeking an Operations professional for an on-site role in Rochester, NY. The role focuses on supporting client implementations with data migration, validation, and test payroll execution, coordinating with Sales, Data Conversion, Implementation, and Managed Services to ensure successful projects and timely go-lives.

You will onboard client data, drive projects to completion, and address challenges with a client-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 1+ years of Payroll experience.
• Advanced Excel with pivot tables, VLOOKUP.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
• CPP certification is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication and client service.
• Solid understanding of payroll compliance at federal/state/local levels.

In-Office: This is a 100% in-office role based at our Rochester, NY location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours.

Position Overview

This role is responsible for supporting client implementations with a strong focus on data migration, validation, and test payroll execution. This role involves collaborating closely with Sales, Data Conversion, Implementation, and Managed Services teams to ensure successful project outcomes and identify opportunities for additional services. The consultant plays a key role in onboarding client data, driving projects to completion, and ensuring go-live dates are met.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of Payroll experience required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data manipulation, and analysis
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Demonstrate organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• A solid understanding of payroll compliance at the federal, state, and local levels
• Ability to communicate clearly with clients and provide excellent customer service

Physical requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
• Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously

The base pay range for this position is $20.00 - $29.00/hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position offers a full range of benefits outlined here.
